Keep Moving Forward” – Walt Disney
Prayer and Scripture Focus: Lord, I pray for the power of endurance despite the circumstances in my life and the things happening around me. Help me resist giving up too easily on myself, people around me, and most of all, You Lord. I pray that my heart will remain fixed on You, and I will make that a priority in my life. “O God, my heart is fixed. I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.” (Psalm 103:1 KIV)
Workout: The word endurance means: the ability to bear prolonged hardship, toleration of hardship, persistence over time. So many of us are guilty of this at some point of our lives- we’ll start something and not continue. The saddest thing is for a believer to start out with God and then lose their way. Have you ever noticed that when you’ve been physically lugging a heavy bag, child, or actual weight how light you feel when you put the weight down? This concept trains athletes to be faster. In practice, they will often wear a weighted vest causing them to increase their speed once they are in competition and without the added weight of the vest.
Reflection Questions during Cool-down: Are you type of person who constantly starts things but rarely finishes? Ask yourself: is there a weighted vest of trouble I’ve carried or I’m carrying now? If so, what do I believe God could be preparing me for? Have you ever felt lost in life or worse, in your walk with God? Take a moment to reflect on this reality: God calls us to himself always, no matter what. According to the Bible He remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. Today, make up your mind to not only survive but to endure in all God calls you to, despite time, circumstances and life’s curve balls. Today, decide to joyfully, endure.
Today: Be purposeful in your endurance in all things pertaining to God, His word, and the life that you want to create for yourself with the understanding that you can do everything through Christ, who gives you strength. (Philippians 4:13 NLT) Share your comments.
